About a kilometer off from the Santa Maria base, Briares' surface slopes down towards this vast expanse of water. It is relatively shallow - only about 350 meters at its greatest depth - but the interesting thing about this sea is its composition. The water in it is completely pure, enough so that the bottom can be seen when it is not too deep. Even traces of other elements are very hard to find - what should be an impossibility. The cause of this is as of yet unknown.
